I decided to revisit guitar lessons later in life. I took into consideration the fact that I wasn't satisfied with the knowledge I gained when I was young. (Basically, because I was young!) I wanted to find an instructor with the knowledge that would allow me to fill that void and teach (and re-teach) me everything from theory to reading standard notation again. I felt that I needed to learn these and more this time around. I searched for months to find someone to fit the bill. I came across Dr. Seth's site and made contact. I interviewed him, and I decided to start lessons. He and I decided to go with a classical guitar type of training. We both felt that was the best overall approach for the knowledge I was after. I also wanted to progress in classical and fingerstyle guitar. He went over everything that I needed to make progressive steps. From revisiting basic theory and techniques that I had forgotten to complex explanations of new techniques and pieces, I really learned more than I could ask for. I was able to challenge myself each week and progressed with an understanding of what I was actually doing. I know had I continued with the teachings, I could have kept progressing and gained more knowledge. The thing that I found interesting about learning from Dr. Seth was that he is able to find your level of knowledge and commitment and proceed from there. That is a superb quality in a teacher in any profession when they can locate where the talent of an individual begins and ends. Dr. Seth truly is a master of his craft. If I am ever in the position to revisit my music education, I wouldn't hesitate to start again with Dr. Seth.

Dr. G has been the most impactful music teacher I've ever had. His teaching style is what has caused me to grow the most out of anything I've tried before when it came to the guitar. He's patient and innovative with his methods, and I could not recommend a better instructor for any level of playing!

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but Seth was able to teach this old dog how to play guitar!

I've always wanted to learn to play guitar, and at 36, I realized there wasn't really anything stopping me except for me. After a quick search, I found Seth's page with all the glowing reviews and discovered his studio within a mile from my house. Absolute kismet!

Seth is meticulous about technique, so you learn the right way, and he's great about instilling the fundamentals so you can really understand the concepts for faster progression. I was a bit worried about learning a brand new instrument in my middle age: rewiring the brain to accept newness is just more challenging at this point in life when frustration is quick to occur. Turns out, I was worried for nothing.

Also, his teaching method is super fun: we get to play songs of our choosing! You'll actually look forward to practicing because being able to play the chords in your favorite song is incredibly gratifying.

My eight year old son has taken guitar lessons from Seth since he was four years old. We were apprehensive about starting our son so early in lessons, but he had been carrying around a toy guitar for two straight years, and friends and family kept urging us to get him a teacher. We were fortunate enough to find Seth, and my son's early enthusiasm for guitar has continued and grown.

Seth is extremely patient and kind, yet makes every effort to treat my kid like a serious musician and never talks down.

While the boy has mainly been learning a classical guitar style, Seth has also encouraged him to learn other musical styles that interest him, and this extra variety has helped keep guitar fun. They also frequently practice duets together, with my son eventually learning both parts, which has also helped make it interesting and fun.

If Seth has not had any special training in how to teach young kids, then I guess he must be a natural at it. I highly recommend him to other parents with kids who are interested in guitar.

I've experienced a multitude of various teaching styles in the past 10 years of music instruction, and Seth is definitely an outlier to the mainstream practices. He offers a view of applied music theory that I had yet to come across and one that I feel is lacking in today's music education repertoire. His lessons are tailor made to my interests as well as augmented to strengthen my deficiencies. Seth has been coaching me for the past two years, and my abilities and confidence have increased more with him than the remainder of my time on the instrument. On one particular occasion, Seth went out of his way to set up a jam session with other local students for group development at our request, and he's always willing to answer a question through text or email. Not only is he a great educator, but also a uniquely talented musician. I would definitely recommend Seth for teaching or performance.

Seth is an excellent instructor. He tailors lessons based on feedback from his students, focusing on the type of music the student is interested in. He also will adjust the amount of music theory in his lessons based on the student's interest. His personality makes lessons fun and interesting while progressing through training.

If you are looking for a guitar/music professor, he is much more than an instructor. I would highly recommend Seth Greenberg.

Simply put, Dr. Seth G is an amazing guitar teacher. He modifies each lesson based on your skill level and/ or areas that need focus. He makes certain you understand the reasoning behind the extremely useful lessons, tips, and tricks that will ultimately make you a solid guitar player. To make it even better, he's kind, organized, and super professional. Who could ask for more?

Seth is as good as it gets for anyone interested in learning to play guitar and learning music along the way.   I have tried a number of other teachers in the past, and his patient instruction and guidance have given me the skill set to become a local jazz performer with other local jazz musicians.   I would strongly recommend him to anyone who wants to become not just a guitar player but also a musician.   His complete understanding of music of all types gives the student the confidence needed to join other musicians and hold their own.   If you want to play guitar and perform, Seth is the choice.
